"The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed... He who sits in the heavens laughs." (Psalm 2:2,4) Herod was not the first ruler to oppose God's purposes, nor was he the last. He was, however, one of the more egregious offenders, because he directly threatened two things God holds most dear.
