"Red Light, Green Light"

Ephesians 2:4-10

Rev. Chad Brewer

At times God’s Word puts an emphasis on passivity. We are told that we cannot work or earn God’s merit or salvation. Jesus tells us to find rest for our souls in Him. But other times, God calls us to rise up, to bring great effort, and to get to work, to do good works. In Sunday’s sermon God’s Word tells us to both stop working and to start working.

"Be Thou My Vision"

Ephesians 3:14-21

Rev. Charlie Phillips

One of my favorite times of the year is the very beginning. There’s all this energy swirling around our goals and vision for life. Everyone stops for a moment and considers how their present steps are affecting their future lives and aspirations. I love it! I would in fact argue that we’re called to do such reassessments throughout our lives, and not just because of our cultural drift (which we talked about this past Sunday), but because we’re called to be stewards of the gifts, talents, and resources God has given us. Join us this Sunday as we talk about living on vision as a church community.

"Hold the Line"

Ephesians 6:10-13

Rev. Charlie Phillips

This week’s VBS theme, based on Ephesians 6:1-18, is “Standing Strong in Today’s Battle for Truth”. Our kids are learning all about the provision God has given us through his “armor”. Not only that, but they’re learning that their salvation was made secure by the ultimate warrior-king who died a sinner’s death. Join us this Sunday as we talk about the state of warfare we live in and the means by which God helps us fight the good fight of the faith.

"Growing in Discipleship"

Ephesians 4:1-16

Rev. Charlie Phillips

This past week we talked about Westminster’s vision going forward in 2023. In case you missed it, here it is: “Westminster Church exists to cultivate an overflowing joy in Jesus Christ in Hall County and beyond by connecting to Christ, growing in discipleship, and overflowing into ministry”. This week’s sermon will tackle our call to grow in discipleship. Join us as we dive into Ephesians 4:1-16!

"Peace on Earth, Goodwill Toward Men"

Ephesians 2:11-22

Rev. Charlie Phillips

It’s ironic that we celebrate Christmas as a season of peace (enter in all the lyrics of our beloved Christmas carols—“sleep in heavenly peace”, “peace on earth, goodwill toward men”, etc) when it is likely our most hurried and restless season of the year. Join us this Sunday as we trace the peace we’re promised—the peace that should dominate our hearts and lives this holiday—back to its origin.
