Luke records in Acts 13 that the Apostle Paul said of King David, that "when he had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep." The church of Jesus Christ is called to be a "light to the nations to bring God's salvation to the ends of the earth". There are still 2.1 billion people in the world today that have never heard about Jesus in a way that they can understand and respond to the Gospel. Are we serving God's purpose in our own generation?
