Westminster’s Children's Ministries (WCM) provides a safe environment where children are invited to know and love God, His Word, and one another. Teachers engage children through storytelling and invite the children to explore its Biblical truth together. We desire to cultivate a generation passionate for the hope of Christ and the glory of God. We’re so happy to have your children join us and look forward to getting to know them – and you!
What ages is WCM for?
We are Pre-K to 5th grade, and to keep things aligned with school, our minimum age requirement policy at Westminster is as follows: Child MUST be 4 (four) years of age ON OR BEFORE September 1st of the current school year (in accordance with the Georgia Department of Education) to be eligible for participation in Children’s Programs.
When do you have WCM and what do you do?
We have fun with each other while learning about Jesus and how much He loves us! We play games, sing worship songs, pray together, and learn! Below is when and how we do that…
5:30 to 6:00 pm – Drop-off/Sign-in/Arrival/Play Time*
6:00 to 6:30 pm – Dinner time
6:30 to 7:00 pm – Small Group time
7:00 to 7:30 pm – Large Group time
7:30 pm – Pick-up/Sign-Out/Dismissal
Sunday Morning Sunday School
9:45 to 10:00 am – Arrival
10:00 to 10:15 am – Large Group time
10:15 to 10:45 am – Small Group time
Sunday Morning Children’s Church
After Sunday School, kids go to the service with their parents to participate in and hear prayer, worship, etc. Then during the offering an adult will lead them from the service to the Children’s Church room to learn things a little more on their level.
11:25ish to 12:00ish (the “ish” is because these times aren’t exact…depends on the sermon that day!)
What safety precautions do you use at WCM?
1) Every child is required to have a form on file to participate.
2) Anna, the Director, has digital and hard copies of these that she keeps with her at all times in case of emergency.
3) Each child wears a name tag with at-a-glance information on it for Small Group leaders on Wednesday nights and during Children’s Church.
4) Our volunteers are all required to pass a National Criminal/Sexual Violations background check.
5) Our church also adheres to a strict Child Protection Policy.
