"Which Gospel Does Your Heart Believe"

Galatians 1:1-8

Rev. Ben Coppedge

Beautiful things are hard to build and easy to destroy--like a 100 year old home that burns down in an hour, or an impeccable reputation ruined by a whisper of gossip. The message of the Gospel is one of those beautiful things that is hard to build and easy to destroy. One little satanic tweak of the good news of Jesus Christ and our greatest dream becomes our greatest nightmare. So, which Gospel does your heart actually believe? The true one revealed in Scripture, or the almost true one selectively edited by the devil?

"All Will be Well"

Obadiah 15-21

Rev. Charlie Phillips

What one thing would you want to hear from God after being plundered, gloated over, and mistreated by a people that had always been a thorn in your side? As we close our study of Obadiah we hear exactly what God's people wanted and needed to hear in their pain and discouragement. See you Sunday!

"Pride Comes Before the..."

Obadiah 1-14

Rev. Charlie Phillips

There’s no book in the Old Testament that feels less significant than Obadiah. Obadiah is a minor prophet. Not only that, but it’s the shortest of the minor prophets. Furthermore, we know next to nothing about the prophet Obadiah. And lastly, the average person probably can’t even tell you what the book is about. It simply seems totally insignificant! But God, in His infinite wisdom, has given us this minor prophet for a reason. Join us Sunday as we dive in!

"Deliverance From Evil"

Matthew 6:13

Rev. Doug McNutt

In the sermon this Sunday we will be examining the biblical perspective on the Prince of Darkness and His kingdom of Darkness, and how these truths highlight the beauty and glory of God in Delivering His people from Evil through His Son Jesus Christ!

We will ask and answer 7 questions:

1)What is Evil?

2)What Does Evil Consist of in our World?

3)How Did Evil Begin or Enter this World and Why Did God Include Evil in His Plan?

4)What are 8 Facts About Satan We Need to Know?

5)How Does God Deliver Us from Evil?

6)What are Some Examples of the Kingdom of Darkness and Deliverance from This Domain?

7)What are our Main Applications of these Truths Today?

We need to understand the nature of Evil and the Evil One in order A)To Be Delivered from Evil in Jesus’ Name, B)To praise, worship and Glorify God more fully, and C)To help others be delivered from Evil as God’s instruments in ministry.

"Lord of the Ring"

Haggai 2:20-23

Rev. Charlie Phillips

Who would have thought that a little book buried in the back of the Old Testament would have so much relevance for Christians today! This week we’ll close out our series in Haggai with yet another interesting prophecy from God. Except this time the prophecy is directed to just one person, Zerubbabel. Why does God single out this “nobody” governor of Judah? Join us as we take one last look at this precious Word from God!

"Consider"

Haggai 2:10-19

Rev. Charlie Phillips

This past week I asked everyone how often we think of the “glory days” of our lives, and how we're made to seek His glory, not ours. This week God turns our attention to our actions (past and present) and how they affect us spiritually. Come prepared to take a deep dive into your heart as we “consider" our lives!

"Glory Days"

Haggai 2:1-9

Rev. Charlie Phillips

It’s wild that God would use prophecy from a man named Haggai, delivered nearly 2,500 years ago, to transform our lives today. This week we look at Haggai’s second message to God’s people who have recently returned from exile. And we learn about a coming glory, greater than we could ever imagine...that makes everything else pale in comparison. Ask the Spirit to prepare your heart for worship! See you soon!

"Unkinked"

Haggai 1:12-15

Rev. Charlie Phillips

Rather than make a few remarks about this week’s text, I’d like to ask you to prepare your hearts for worship by asking yourself these questions: What has God been convicting me of lately? What priorities are out of alignment in my life? Are there areas of my life that I’m experiencing friction rather than flourishing? See you Sunday as we continue our study of Haggai!

"What Are You Waiting For?"

Haggai 1:1-11

Rev. Barr Overcast

This week, we begin our new series in the book of Haggai. The Jews of Haggai's day should be re-building the temple after returning from exile, but they aren't. They continue to put off the task God has given them. What message will God have for this procrastinating people? What message does He have for you? Join us this Sunday to find out.

"A Praying & Staying Church: Part 3"

James 5:19-20

Rev. Charlie Phillips

The last season of ministry at Westminster has been so sweet thanks to God’s Word. But James has one more word for us this week. Join us for worship and communion this Sunday as we close out this great series! Oh, and be looking forward to this summer as we dive into Haggai and Obadiah

"A Praying & Staying Church: Part 2"

James 5:16b-18

Rev. Charlie Phillips

Charles Spurgeon once said “The power of prayer can never be overrated. They who cannot serve God by preaching need not regret. If a man can but pray he can do anything. He who knows how to overcome God in prayer has Heaven and earth at his disposal”. Do we really believe that’s true? Why is it so hard to believe in the power of prayer and dedicate ourselves to it?! Join us this Sunday as we explore the power of prayer!

"A Praying & Staying Church: Part 1"

James 5:13-16

Rev. Charlie Phillips

As we come near the end of James, we encounter one of the most difficult texts in the New Testament. In a book with so much clarifying wisdom, chapter 5 verses 13-16 feel almost out of left field. But regardless, we as God’s people can come Sunday expecting the Spirit to give us wisdom and direction as we learn about the great power of prayer and the healing work of our Lord. See you then!

"Waiting is the Hardest Part"

James 5:7-12

Rev. Charlie Phillips

Most people want to be the kind of people that persevere through hardship, pain, and toil, but few desire the circumstances that cultivate that kind of grit. It’s interesting that James bookends his letter with the theme of suffering. Why? What does he want us to take away? Pray for the Spirit’s leading as you come to worship this Sunday. We’ll take a deep dive into cultivating perseverance through hardship. See you soon!

"More Money More Problems"

James 5:1-6

Rev. Charlie Phillips

James 5:1-6 feels a little out of place when taken with everything else he's said up to this point…mainly because he seems angry! In fact commentators say that he’s seething in this text! Why is he so angry and condemning? Who is he talking to? Does it have any relevance for me? Join us this Sunday as we take in the incredible relevance of this unusual passage!

in proving foresight may be vain:

the best-laid schemes of Mice and Men

go oft awry,
