Acts

"New Beginnings"

Acts 5:12-42

Rev. Charlie Phillips

To frame this week’s sermon, let me ask you a question—Given that we ended the last sermon in Acts with the deaths of Ananias and Sapphira, what do you expect to happen next in the life of the early church? This begs another question—What do you expect God to do when things seem to be at a low in your own life? Pray for the Spirit to be working your heart as you come to worship this Sunday!

"Unshaken"

Acts 4:23-31

Rev. Charlie Phillips

It's a fact that believers, as they build God’s kingdom, will be opposed and maybe even suffer intense persecution. It was promised throughout Scripture and has been experienced heavily since Pentecost. How then believers respond? What can we do to not only survive the onslaught of opposition but thrive while in the thick of it? This week we see exactly how the early church responded to their first major opposition. Pray for the Spirit’s leading and join us on Sunday!

"No Other"

Acts 4:1-22

Rev. Barr Overcast

If Jesus is king, why is the gospel still opposed? It is easy to want and expect an easy march to victory in the Christian life, but this is not what Jesus has told his followers to expect. The reason why is simple but difficult. When you follow Christ, your life will reflect his life: persecution and all.

"Bump, Set..."

Acts 3:1-26

Rev. Charlie Phillips

So far in Acts we’ve learned that the Holy Spirit takes what is Christ’s and gives it to us, rippling the Gospel from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, all the way to our hearts. That said, how has the Gospel been rippling in your heart? What freedoms in Christ are the Spirit delivering to you? What joys that the world holds you back from are taking hold in your life? This Sunday we go deep in the Gospel to explore a whole new way of living, given as a gift in Christ. See you on Sunday!
