Westminster began its Hispanic ministry in 1999 with the hiring of
Alejandro Oropeza. The ministry now consists of a worship service
in Spanish in the music room on Sunday mornings at 10:30, Bible studies
in Spanish throughout the week, ESL/Spanish for Gringo classes on
Wednesday evenings, kids' club on Friday evenings throughout the school
year, summer long day camps for Hispanic children, and a singles'
group.
Hispanic children speak English, and we always need more volunteers,
so please come join us! We feel that this is a very important ministry
here in Hall County because the mission field has come to our back
door. "The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the
native among you and you shall love him as yourself, for you were
aliens in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God." Leviticus
19:34. "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should
inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them
and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that
men would seek him…" Acts 17: 26-27a.
